About the book
"Milky Thoughts" is a children's book designed to introduce breastfeeding to little siblings of a family who will be bringing home a new breastfeeding baby. Milky Thoughts paints a colorful picture of breastfeeding, making breastfeeding a positive experience for both the new baby and the siblings. It tackles the questions that only a child’s untamed mind ventures to explore, like, “Does it taste like chocolate milk?” It turns an ordinary task into an exciting time…a time to cherish with family, while also learning to become independent and a “big helper.” The book came to life after authors, Amanda and Kim, interviewed their own children on the subject of breastfeeding and the kiddos “milky thoughts” were just hilarious, and the idea was born to tell the story from the child’s perspective. The book is so dynamic. It offers comical rhymes, youthful entertainment, Melissa Goff's whimsical artwork, and is full of great information for breastfeeding mothers. It is the kind of book that any child will want to read over and over again, and the exciting rhythm carried throughout the text keeps the adult reader enthralled as well.
